DEATH FROM ABOVE

Smell that?

Nah. Of course you don't. You're not here, and you're not me. Of course you can't smell it. But I assure you, it is a wonderful smell.

That's the smell of the dust and mung in the heating ducts that has collected over the last several months being burned up the first time we fire up the heater this year. This, chil'ren, is a wonderful smell. If there's any odor that will ever remind me of home, this is it. This is the smell of home. Of comfort.

Both of my CD drives (one CD ReWritable, one DVD Drive) do not work anymore. After checking all the drivers and all the standard crap, I took the case off and checked the wiring. That's when I found that there was a loose wire. Not sure if a single loose wire is enough to put both CD drives down, but hell. Wouldn't doubt it. I had my toolkit with me... I tried to solder the wire back in, but I don't think I did a very good job of it. So I just got a couple of replacements today. If this doesn't help the situation, I'm just gonna take 'em out back and shoot them.

Kilgore. Now THAT is an alpha male.

So here's the situation. Due to going to school a week back, I'm achingly behind on everything I have to do at work. I have so much to do that I am seriously considering working tomorrow. Working on the weekend. Bad mojo. Bad, bad mojo. But somewhat necessary, as I was caught unprepared today and had to get a printer ready to run a call. Normally I don't have to do this. Because I had to fix the printer in order to run the call, since I had no printers ready to go, it took me two and a half extra hours to respond to the call. This is unacceptable. Hence, work on the weekend.

OR.

I skip the work and go see a handful of movies I've been meaning to see. Among them: Lost in Translation, Once Upon a Time in Mexico, School of Rock, maybe The Rundown. But I MUST see the first three before next Friday.... because next Friday is god damn Kill Bill. Yeah.

So which should I do? Lotsa movies or work? Responsibilities or be a dork? Man... It shouldn't be this hard to decide what to do with a Saturday.
